Three Phase AC Alternator – A Top Generator

When building a generator set by sourcing the engine and alternator separately, the alternator choice defines how the entire system performs. A three phase AC alternator delivers balanced power across three windings simultaneously – making it the right choice for industrial loads, motor-heavy applications, and commercial establishments where single phase simply isn’t enough.

At A Top Generators, our three phase AC alternator range covers 7.5 kVA to 625 kVA – transformer type, copper wound, aluminium body – built for serious genset builds.

Explore our Alternator Generator range for reliable power generation solutions across various industrial applications.

What the Specs Actually Tell You

7.5 kVA to 625 kVA capacity range – Covers light commercial setups all the way to heavy industrial requirements. Every model is sized to match real-world engine pairings without unnecessary overbuilding.

Copper winding throughout – Three phase alternators run all three windings under sustained load, generating more heat than single phase units. Copper handles this better – longer insulation life, fewer rewinds, lower maintenance costs over time.

Aluminium body frame – Lighter than cast iron, structurally strong, and corrosion-resistant in humid or dusty environments. Makes installation and transportation easier without any compromise on rigidity.

1500 RPM rated speed – Standard for 50 Hz output across India. Pairs directly with most diesel engines at 1500 RPM – no gearbox or pulley arrangement needed.

Power factor 0.8 – Consistent across all models, which keeps engine sizing and load calculations simple – especially useful when the load includes motors and compressors.

Efficiency up to 86% – Rises with capacity. Higher kVA models return better efficiency numbers, making them the better long-term choice for continuous duty applications.

Our Industrial Generator range is designed to deliver dependable power for factories, commercial facilities, and heavy-duty operations.

Common Questions

Q1. Three phase vs single phase – what’s the real difference?

Three phase AC alternators deliver power continuously across three windings with no zero-crossing gaps. Better for motors, industrial machinery, and mixed loads. Also more efficient at equivalent kVA ratings.

Q2. Does copper winding matter more in three phase units?

Yes. All three windings run simultaneously under load, so heat buildup is higher. Copper manages that better than aluminium – tighter resistance over time, more rewind cycles before servicing is needed.

Q3. Is it suitable for daily continuous use?

Absolutely – provided engine HP is correctly matched and the unit isn’t pushed beyond rated load. Our range is built for daily industrial operation, not just standby backup.
